Capcade is building out it's Cape Town office and we are looking for a Head of People. You will be part of a self-organised agile team that is working on our scaling our FinTech platform, which is shaping how financial transactions are sourced, negotiated and executed. 


We need you to help us developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Capcade, specifically in the areas of talent management, change management, organisational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. In this role you will be responsible for all human resources related activities. This position is a key strategic role in the company helping to grow the business and allowing us to build a unique and strong people oriented culture. Within our working environment we have a flat team structure, no middle management, communication that is direct and transparent between all team members. 


Duties and responsibilities


You will have a unique opportunity to assist in crafting the future of game-changing FinTech platform. You will be responsible for following areas within the business;


  • Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior regarding key organisational and management issues
  • Develop company wellbeing, health and counselling policies
  • Lead the analysis of employee feedback and data, with the aim of creating a better working environment and engaged culture
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective
  • Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally


Requirements and qualifications

  • Honors or Masters University degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organised and detail orientated
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
